Swiss firebrand alchemists Zeal & Ardor are excited to announce forthcoming, self-titled new album.
Hissing and seeping justifiable rage from every pore - yet not an unrelenting musical battering - the 14-track opus was recorded by Marc Obrist and Manuel Gagneux at Hutch Sounds and mixed and mastered by Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio. All songs were written by the softly spoken, multi- lingual frontman Gagneux, with some German lyrics intermixed with the English.
Gagneux declares, “With the self-titled record, we have arrived at where I imagined this project should sound like. It’s the longest we’ve worked on a single record and I believe it shows. The most important thing for an album of ours to do, is transport you instantly into our mood, our world. Even though this might not be the one you might expect from us, this record certainly delivers on that front. We had time to hone in to what we think makes us interesting and what sounds we would like to explore through this we have found our home.
Home is burning. Welcome home.”
In one of the most powerful comeback stories in recent history, THE GHOST INSIDE make a triumphant return the stage in Los Angeles at Shrine Expo, in 2019. With the 5000 capacity venue selling out in mere minutes, the show as moved to it’s parking lot, and selling over 8000 tickets by the end of on sale day.
THE GHOST INSIDE will release Rise From The Ashes: Live At The Shrine via Epitaph Records. This live concert recording is from the band’s 2019 sold out comeback show in Los Angeles, CA in the parking lot of The Shrine.
On an early morning in November 2015, THE GHOST INSIDE was involved in an accident that claimed the lives of their driver, the lives of everyone in the other vehicle, and resulted in multiple injuries for all of the band members. Jonathan Vigil (vocals) suffered from a fractured back, ligament damage, and two broken ankles. Zach Johnson (guitar) has since had 13 surgeries for a femur injury. Andrew Tkaczyk (drums) ultimately lost his leg. The future of the band was very much up in the air throughout 2016, as everyone struggled to recover.
The road to recovery was both mentally and physically extensive but THE GHOST INSIDE were determined to get back to doing what they love. Nearly four years later, the band did just that, returning to the stage July 2019. Originally meant to take place at the historic Shrine Auditorium, tickets sold out so quick that the gig had to be moved to the parking lot, selling double the venues capacity. Over 8000 people witness this return to the stage. The accident will always be a defining moment for THE GHOST INSIDE, but never what defines them.

2022 release. Matt Pike: "The album title, Pike vs. The Automaton, wasn't an ego thing for me. Billy and Jon said, "Dude, you should use your name in this. This is your solo project." I said, "I don't want to do that". The Automaton, in Greek mythology, is the big robot that's the guardian of the Gods, basically. It's a soulless, big machine named Talos. The big machine that's working against mankind at this moment. In Jason and the Argonauts, Jason and the Argonauts have to battle this big machine guy that protects the island. Basically, what the album title is saying, metaphorically, is 'Pike against the World.'" "I made a psychedelic rock record that Sleep and High on Fire fans would like," Pike says when asked for a Cliffs Notes description of Pike vs. The Automaton. And maybe if you're not a Sleep or High on Fire fan, you might like it too. I definitely think it's interesting; it has D-Beat punk, two-step. It's got everything and it still works together, it doesn't sound odd. It's just an off-the-wall psychedelic rock record."

Ghost one of the most esteemed and celebrated rock bands in the world today return with their fifth psalm, IMPERA, fronted by the newly anointed Papa Emeritus IV. A dozen songs take on themes of isolation and demigod worship, as well as colonization of both space and mind. And all with the infectious hooky brand of rock their fans have grown accustomed.
Prequelle follows Ghost's third studio album, Meliora, and its accompanying EP Popestar, which elevated the Swedish rock band into the pantheon of the greatest rock bands on earth and resulted in a Grammy® Award for 'Best Metal Performance'. Prequelle delves into the plague, the apocalypse, and dark ages.
